MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
To safely transport Perway personnel, rails, sleepers, ballast, lubricants, tools, equipment and material to destinations of operation ensuring load security, roadworthiness and safe site.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of EGCSE with at least three (3) credits including Mathematics
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years’ heavy duty driving experience.
- A valid driver’s licence with minimum two years’ experience, and
- A Public Driving Permit

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely transport Perway personnel, rails, sleepers, ballast, lubricants, tools, equipment and other operational materials to designated destinations and work sites while minimizing the risk of damage, loss or injury.
- Loading and offloading materials, tools, and equipment at worksites and operational destinations.
- Report vehicle defects, breakdowns, accidents, incidents, damaged loads or other unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
- Ensure that vehicle licences, permits, inspection certificates and other required documentation are valid and available.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned truck and ensure routine checks are carried out.
- Monitor fuel, tyres, oil, water and other basic vehicle requirements and report any abnormalities promptly.
- Complete trip sheets, vehicle inspection checklists, delivery records, logbooks and other required documentation accurately and timeously.
