As Eswatini Railways we strive to provide total logistics solutions to our clients. We have stations located in strategic places around The Kingdom of Eswatini; Matsapha, Sidvokodvo, Phuzumoya, Big Bend, Nsoko, Lavumisa, Mlawula, Mpaka and Mhlume.
What we Transport
Sugar – our major client being Eswatini Sugar Association who has a warehouse and a siding at Mlawula and export the raw sugar to overseas markets via Maputo port.
Coal – our major client being Maloma Colliery who have a siding at Nsoko and export their Antracite to Richards Bay Mines in Sout Africa via Golela.
Canned Fruit – our major client being Rhodes Group.
Cement – our major client for this commodity is Afrisam Eswatini and they import this product from Lichternburg to Matsapa via Komatipoort
Wheat – our Major client here is Ngwane Mills who imports from Durban
Fuel – we have three clients who import fuel namely Galp Energia, Total Eswatini and Engen Oil they all import fuel products from Durban.
Requirements for moving bulk
- There is a minimum weight per wagon required in order to load onto a wagon
- A train requires a minimum of 20 wagons to be considered and to avoid delays it is advisable to move a full train which comprises of 30 to 40 wagons so that it doesn’t get detached along the way
- Rail is always cheaper to use when moving bulk commodities over a long distances and also environmentally friendly too.
