MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB
To conduct routine and special patrol inspections of assigned track sections, identify defects early, undertake minor authorized corrective action, and immediately report unsafe conditions to support safe rail operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of EGCSE with at least three (3) credits including a Pass in English
- A credit in Mathematics will be an added advantage

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol assigned rail network sections by foot in line with approved processes and frequency.
- Inspect rails, sleepers, fastenings, ballast, drainage, fences, signs, level crossings, bridges, culverts and related infrastructure for defects or hazards.
- Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, safety-critical defects, derailment risks, vandalism, blocked drainage, broken rails, and missing clips.
- Carry basic tools and perform minor spot maintenance only where safe and authorized.
- Submit accurate daily patrol reports and support special patrols during storms, flooding, or abnormal conditions.
- Use tools correctly, wear required personal protective equipment and always maintain a safety-first approach.
