MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
To provide manual track infrastructure maintenance labour and worksite protection support for repairs, renewals, ballast work, drainage, vegetation control, shutdown work and emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of EGCSE with at least three (3) credits including a pass in English
- A credit in Mathematics will be an added advantage
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Physical fitness for demanding field work
- Experience in the railway environment is an added advantage

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out manual track maintenance activities including sleeper replacement, ballast shoveling, boxing-in, clipping, fastening, vegetation clearing and drain cleaning.
- Support renewals and repairs of sleepers, rails, fastenings, joints, turnouts and related track components.
- Provide flagman and worksite protection support in line with instructions from the Track Foreman or Person in Control.
- Assist during mechanized maintenance, contracted works, shutdowns, and emergency response activities.
- Observe all safety procedures, use prescribed signals where required, and maintain good housekeeping at the worksite.
- Use tools, equipment and materials responsibly to support cost containment and safe operations.
